The 250 class is ready for racing at Budds Creek with the championship separated by just a single point between Levi Kitchen and Cole Davies. Kitchen earned the first gate pick after setting the fastest time in the opening qualifying session, with Davies right behind him in second and Ryder DiFrancesco third. Landen Gordon and Chance Hymas rounded out the top five. Conditions changed dramatically during the second session as steady rain turned the track into a muddy mess, leaving riders unable to improve on their earlier times. Kitchen will enter moto one with the red plate and a 334-333 advantage over Davies, but the worsening track conditions could make starts and avoiding mistakes even more important. With only four motos remaining in the championship, every point at Budds Creek matters.

250 OVERALL RACE RESULTS

Chance Hymas goes 2-1 on the day to take the overall.

Chance Hymas grabbed the holeshot in moto two with Parker Ross and Cole Davies right behind him, while Levi Kitchen got pinched off at the start and came through around seventh. Kitchen immediately went to work and quickly moved his way into third, although early on he was not quite matching the pace of Hymas and Davies at the front.

Julien Beaumer also put together a strong ride, working his way into fourth and putting himself in position for third overall on the day.

Up front, Hymas maintained a gap of roughly four seconds over Davies, with Kitchen another few seconds back in third. As the moto wore on, however, Kitchen began to close the distance. His pressure on Davies eventually brought all three riders together and set up a strong late-race battle.

Kitchen made the move around Davies for second and immediately set his sights on Hymas. The two closed to nearly a bike length of each other as the pace picked up in the final laps, but lapped riders began to play a major role. Hymas handled the traffic well enough to hold Kitchen off to the finish, taking the moto win and securing the overall victory at Budds Creek.

It was a hard-fought battle from Levi Kitchen, but he would only gain two points on Davies in the second moto.

Cole Davies finishes second overall, which gave him the points lead.

250 RACE RESULTS MOTO 1

Cole Davies stayed patient early and made a pass for the lead to run away for the win.

Levi Kitchen grabbed the holeshot, but his race quickly took a turn when he went down in the opening laps and dropped all the way back to 17th. Chance Hymas inherited the lead, but Cole Davies was on a mission and moved into the top spot just a few laps later. Only seven minutes into the moto, Kitchen had already worked his way back up to 11th and needed to keep charging to limit the number of points Davies could gain.

Kitchen’s day became even more difficult when he ran up onto the grass along the start straight, a mistake that could potentially result in a penalty. To make matters worse, he was forced to ditch his goggles around the halfway point, leaving him exposed to the heavy roost.

Ryder DiFrancesco, who also suffered a poor start, began making progress of his own and worked his way past Kitchen into ninth. Up front, Davies continued to stretch his advantage and had built a seven-second lead heading into the final ten minutes of the moto.

Unfortunately for Kitchen, the lack of goggles made it nearly impossible to keep pushing at the same pace, and he began to fade further back. In the end, Davies controlled the race to take the moto win and move into the championship points lead after moto one.
