With the goal now to look upwards rather than worrying about a relegation scrap, the Whites moved to strengthen key positions this summer, including a marquee move for a new first-choice goalkeeper and one of the fastest wide players in Europe.

New Leeds United Signings 2026/27

Total summer spend: £86.8m

James Trafford joined Leeds in a £40m deal from Manchester City while Michael Zetterer arrived to complete an overhaul of the goalkeeping department.

Trafford, who was part of Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad over the summer, spent last season as second choice at the Etihad behind Gianluigi Donnarumma, but impressed when afforded opportunities in cup competitions.

Tarik Muharemovic arrived from Sassuolo for around £32m, giving Farke a new centre-back option as Leeds look to shore up their defence, and he's joined by the more experienced Nico Elvedi, who boasts over 70 caps for Switzerland.

Harry Wilson joined on a free transfer from Fulham and full-back Melvin Bard came in on loan, but Leeds may have saved the best for last, signing speedy winger Jean-Mattéo Bahoya on deadline day on loan with an option to buy.

Total summer sales: £27.5m

Pascal Struijk left for Brighton in a deal worth around £20m, ending a long stay at Elland Road as one of the club's most consistent performers.

Isaac Schmidt and Jack Harrison have both moved on for smaller fees, joining Young Boys and New England Revolution respectively, while Joe Gelhardt has joined Hull.

Illan Meslier, Maximilian Woeber and Karl Darlow have all departed on free transfers, with Meslier's move to Arsenal ending a topsy-turvy six-year spell in Yorkshire.

Leeds also allowed a whole host of players to leave on loan, including Wilfried Gnonto and Joel Piroe.

Leeds United's record signing is James Trafford, joining from Manchester City in the summer of 2026 for a fee of £40m, plus an additional £5m if add-ons are achieved.

Trafford made his name during a spell at Burnley, where he was instrumental in the Clarets' record-setting promotion campaign, as they conceded just 16 goals in 46 games.

Now set to be the established first-choice in a top flight side, the youngster will hope to displace Jordan Pickford as England's number one shot-stopper.

Who is Leeds United's Record Sale?

Leeds United's record sale is Raphinha, sold to Barcelona in 2022 for £55m.

Signed from Rennes on deadline day in 2020, Raphinha helped keep Leeds in the Premier League almost single-handedly during the 2021/22 season before sealing his dream move to Camp Nou.

The Brazilian scored 11 times and provided three assists during that campaign, waving an emotional goodbye to fans following his goal in the dramatic final day win over Brentford.
