Milwaukee Brewers No. 5 prospect Andrew Fischer is on his way to making history as he has launched 43 home runs and 103 RBI with the Biloxi Shuckers, the Brewers' Double-A affiliate team. 

His 43 home runs tie former Chicago Cubs star Kris Bryant, who reached the same milestone in 2014 in the minors and then went on to win NL Rookie of the Year in 2015. 

His 43rd home run came against the Birmingham Barons on Tuesday, when he went 3-for-4 at the plate with two singles, two runs, a home run, three RBI and a walk, helping defeat the Barons 8-7. 

His success this season is proof that the Brewers farm system possesses top-end talent, as he stands as the only prospect in baseball this season with 40+ home runs. Across his last four games, he has gone 6-for-13 with four home runs, two singles, eight RBI and a .923 ISO.

The conundrum of whether or not the Brewers should promote Andrew Fischer 

While the third baseman has demonstrated raw, historic power, the Brewers will likely wait to bring up the slugger despite fans wanting him promoted. 

Although the Brewers own the best record in the majors at 86-53, they rank dead last in the league with 129 home runs, and promoting Fischer would help fill the void. Evidently, his power surge would also provide the team with an appealing option to maximize a deep playoff run. 

But considering he doesn't have any Triple-A experience and only made his debut with Double-A on June 17, he would benefit from remaining in the minors, especially with his high 33.9 percent strikeout rate across both Wisconsin and Biloxi. More time spent in the minors would help fine-tune his game before he faces his biggest test against MLB pitching. 

The Brewers uphold a reputation of not having their prospects rushed to the big leagues. Furthermore, while the idea of having such a compelling power-hitter join the team makes sense, prematurely trying to advance Fischer could impact his rhythm and development.
