Maintaining that distance proved harder as the fight progressed. Cameron kept closing in, landing right hands and making Mayer work at close quarters. From the fifth round, her body attack wore down Mayer.

The difference was what happened after Mayer’s opening punches. Her jab gave her a way to start exchanges, but it did not consistently prevent Cameron from getting inside and extending them. Once there, the British fighter had opportunities to score without having to cross the same distance again.

By the eighth, Mayer was bleeding from the nose. Cameron suffered a cut around her left eye in the ninth, but neither backed away from the exchanges during the final two rounds.

Cameron’s record moved to 23 wins and one loss with eight knockouts, while Mayer dropped to 22 wins and three losses with five knockouts. Both indicated afterward that a rematch was planned. Cameron wants that fight held over three-minute rounds.

Caroline Dubois Retains Against Amelia Moore

Caroline Dubois kept her WBC and WBO lightweight titles with a unanimous decision over Amelia Moore in the co-main event. Scores of 99-90, 99-90 and 98-91 reflected her control across the ten rounds.

Dubois put combinations together early and prevented Moore from establishing a reliable jab. A fifth-round knockdown widened her advantage, although Moore protested that a head clash had caused the fall.

Moore landed right hands and worked effectively inside during the ninth, but that late success came after Dubois had built a substantial lead. The champion finished with 14 wins and one draw, while Moore suffered her first professional defeat after four wins.

Terri Harper Stops Miranda Reyes in Two

Terri Harper needed only 47 seconds of the second round to finish Miranda Reyes in their scheduled eight-round light welterweight contest.

A left hand dropped Reyes as she advanced. After Reyes rose at eight, Harper pressed forward and dropped her again, prompting the referee to stop the fight. The former three-division champion continues her pursuit of a title in a fourth weight class.

Elsewhere on the card, Reina Tellez beat Jessica Barry 96-94 over ten rounds at featherweight. Tellez’s cleaner combinations carried her through despite a sixth-round point deduction for repeated low blows.

Tysie Gallagher edged Brandi Robinson 77-75 after eight rounds at super bantamweight, landing the heavier shots during their frequent close exchanges.

On the preliminary card, Neeraj Goyat swept all six rounds against Yessin Koulali, winning 60-54. Scott Melvin avenged his 2022 defeat to Dylan Cheema with a body-shot stoppage at 2:33 of round six.

Shannon Courtenay and Ebonie Cotton finished level at 57-57 after six rounds at super flyweight.
