Not even a full 24 hours after playing the role of hero for one side of Chicago and making history, Pete Crow-Armstrong was back at it again to open Tuesday's edition of the Cubs vs. White Sox rivalry.  

Having entered the second game of the three-game series with exactly 30 home runs — he achieved his second-straight 30-30 season on Monday — Crow-Armstrong led off the bottom of the first inning by hitting another one.

Crow-Armstrong's lead-off home run also made more MLB history. He became only the 13th player since at least 1900 to follow a walk-off home run with a leadoff home run in the next team game. 

The last player to do it was Jose Altuve with the Houston Astros on June 15-16 in 2021. 

And with his second blast in consecutive at-bats and third overall in two days — he connected on two in the series opener on Monday, Crow-Armstrong now has 31 home runs, which matches the career-high he set last season, and 79 RBI in 127 games so far on the year.

He entered Tuesday's game hitting .281 with a .379 OBP and a .550 slug. 

And largely thanks to Crow-Armstrong's individual prowess, the Cubs are keeping pace in the National League Central race. At 73-53, Chicago is five games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for the division lead.

While it won't be easy to dethrone Shohei Ohtani, the winner of the last two National League MVP awards, Crow-Armstrong's case continues to improve every single time he delivers in the clutch.
