Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMiami Heat point guard Davion Mitchell is looking for a return to form on the defensive end next season. With that in mind, Mitchell has worked hard to shed weight this offseason and to transform his body. That's led to some teasing from teammate Bam Adebayo who joked, "Davion is not fat anymore."
Mitchell said he took the ribbing from Adebayo in stride, knowing that his teammate knows how hard he works. The sixth-year guard said he doesn't know exactly how much weight he's lost, as he leaves that to others to track, but that he's ready to go for the season.
That includes Mitchell being excited to play with Giannis Antetokounmpo. The point guard made a trip to Greece to work out with Antetokounmpo to begin the process of understanding how to play together.
"He's a winner. He just wants to win," Mitchell said of Antetokounmpo. "For me, I was just trying to learn the places I need to be on the court, what makes him more comfortable. I mean, obviously, he's been in the league for so long that he knows how everyone's going to guard him and he knows how everyone's going to guard me. So he's trying to find ways for me to be successful, and I'm just trying to do the things for him."
