DENVER — After a rough few weeks, the Los Angeles Dodgers were looking for a jolt to kick off a short road trip. Shohei Ohtani gave them not just one, but two at Coors Field on Monday night.

Ohtani blasted his 28th and 29th home runs as part of a three-hit night to shake the Dodgers out of their recent doldrums and post an 11-5 win over the Colorado Rockies to open a three-game set in the Mile High City.

His pair of homers traveled a total of 881 feet, helping the Dodgers score their most runs in a game since beating the San Diego Padres at Chavez Ravine 12-7 on July 2.

"Tonight was really exceptional in the sense of his pitch selection and his direction to the big part of the field that we talk about a lot," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "When he does that, there's nobody better on the planet and it was really good to see."

Ohtani had a single in the third inning off Rockies starter Tomoyuki Sugano and then took Sugano deep in the fifth, mashing an 0-1 pitch 428 feet to the opposite field to push the Dodgers to a 6-1 advantage.

It took Ohtani just one inning to hit his next home run, smashing a 2-1 pitch from Rockies reliever Juan Mejia 453 feet into the Dodgers bullpen in right-center field.

With his second shot of the night, Ohtani recorded his second multi-home run game of the season (and his second one in August, as he hit two at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 5). It was also the 25^th multi-homer game of his career and his first multi-homer game against the Rockies.

Throughout his career, Ohtani has found his swing in Coors Field. He has now hit safely in 21 consecutive games in Denver, batting .413 (38-for-92) with nine homers and 24 RBI during the streak.

"I'm just trying to feel good at the plate and making sure I'm not too tense," Ohtani said through an interpreter. "I'm just making sure that I'm contact-oriented. Those are things that I really focus on here at the field."
