Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMost of a Celtic persuasion wouldn't have known much about Camilo Duran just a matter of months ago. They certainly do now.
The shining light of pre-season, the Colombian has carried that momentum into 2026/27, already scoring three goals in his first four games in green and white.
His first in Hoops had been that scruffy effort away at Tannadice, yet the 24-year-old followed it up with a belting brace against LASK Linz in midweek, firmly announcing himself to the Parkhead faithful.
REUTERS/Russell CheyneWith the former Qarabag man wreaking havoc off the right flank, and Kasper Hogh leading the line through the middle, where does that leave Haissem Hassan?
Why Duran's flying start might be bad news for Hassan
The obvious solution for Martin O'Neill might be to shift Duran over to the left flank in order to accommodate the Egyptian moving forward, but would that be in Celtic's best interest?
REUTERS/Russell CheyneThere is a feeling of why change what isn't broken, with Duran having looked so impressive on the right in recent weeks, none more so than on Wednesday night.
His second of the night came following a neat one-two with Benjamin Nygren, the fleet-footed winger subsequently bending the ball into the far corner in sumptuous style on his left foot.
While Duran's earlier volley had come in a central position, he had posed a real threat from the right prior to that, first prodding an effort wide from Colby Donovan's lofted pass, while also lashing an effort straight at the 'keeper on the turn.
Perhaps the South American could still prove a handful on the opposite side, yet Yang Hyun-jun offers so much to this team in his own right, one of many unsung heroes in midweek.
As such, while Hassan continues to step up his fitness regardless, the 24-year-old may well have to get used to mere cameo roles for now, having featured twice off the bench so far.
Of course, it says a lot about Celtic's newfound depth and quality that O'Neill has such a stellar option in reserve, but for Hassan himself, the former Real Oviedo man will have to bide his time on current evidence.

There could also be the added complication of yet another signing in that department too.
Why Celtic could still be seeking more attacking signings
Celtic's next signing appears to be imminent in the form of Chelsea starlet, Landon Emenalo, the 18-year-old left-back set to join on loan for the season.
REUTERS/Hollie AdamsA replacement for Arne Engels might well also be on the agenda, amid links to Canada's Niko Sigur, with new man Mika Baur looking more in the mould of Reo Hatate than the young Belgian.
More ambitious rumours have also emerged with regard to the forward line, with reports in Colombia suggesting that Celtic are again interested in Girona's Yaser Asprilla.
While the Catalan side aren't keen to sell, the 22-year-old appears to be looking for a change of scenery, following the club's recent relegation from LaLiga.
The likes of Valencia and Lecce are also in the frame, alongside the Scottish champions, with Celtic previously linked with the Colombian in January.
Amid claims he could fetch as much as £16m, this deal potentially feels like a non-starter for the Glasgow side. And yet, if there is to be any compromise on that price, O'Neill and co should certainly be willing to pounce.
Like both Hassan and Duran, Asprilla is another incredibly exciting, dynamic left-footer whose best work typically comes on the right flank, albeit while mirroring his compatriot in being able to operate centrally too, particularly in an attacking midfield role.
REUTERS/Albert GeaPerhaps that might be a way to fit him into the team, rather than directly competing with Hassan and Duran, although he has proven himself to be so deadly off the right in the past.
Like Hassan, it wasn't necessarily a sparkling season for Asprilla in Spain, as his side suffered relegation, while he failed to register a single goal or assist. The Egyptian, meanwhile, failed to score and registered just three assists for Real Oviedo.
He had chalked up four goal involvements the year prior, however, while averaging a standout 1.1 successful dribbles per game. For context, Hassan scored and assisted seven goals in 2024/25, alongside averaging 1.4 successful dribbles per game, albeit while having been operating in the second tier at the time.
Asprilla hasn't yet really flourished at the elite level, although he did previously sparkle in England's second division with Watford, ending the 2023/24 campaign with 13 goals and assists in the Championship, having averaged 1.3 dribbles and 1.7 key passes that season.
He's certainly got the dribbling prowess of Hassan, yet perhaps more like his fellow Colombian, Duran, in terms of his breathtaking speed and lethal finishing prowess, having put together his own stunning catalogue of goals while at Vicarage Road.
As Duran showed in midweek, he's a man who can conjure up something spectacular in front of goal, with the same no doubt true of Asprilla, with half of his goals in that Championship season coming from outside the box.
Whether Celtic can actually get him in the door remains to be seen, but this could be yet another mouthwatering addition to O'Neill's ranks.
