Every runner wants to get to the start line of the race they’ve been training for – but sometimes life gets in the way. While some events will let you postpone to next year’s event, this isn’t always an option and lots of event entries go wasted each year.

Until now, there has been no dedicated place for runners to exchange their race places safely and without the danger of ticket touts. Enter RACEE. It’s a new platform where you can transfer race entries at face value, launched by two women runners. We find out more…

What is RACEE?

It’s a website where you can sell tickets for running events that you will no longer be able to attend. You can also buy tickets from other runners, including for sold-out events. And there is one caveat that makes the whole thing so brilliant: every race entry listed on the platform is offered at face value, with no mark-ups or touting fees.

Who founded it?

Two women runners, Isabel and Cheryl, are the brains behind RACEE. It was born from their own experiences as runners who race. Like many of us, they’ve had to drop out of events at the last minute, forfeiting their entry. They’ve also missed out on sold-out races, knowing that there are genuine runners with places that they can no longer use, but no way to connect with them.

Rather than seeing race entries go to waste – or appear on unofficial resale sites at inflated prices – they set out to build a platform that reflects the values of the running community: fairness, trust and helping one another.

Is RACEE only for big races?

Not at all! The platform features everything from local 5Ks to ultras, across the UK.

Do you pay more for tickets on RACEE?

No – and that’s exactly the point. Every listing on RACEE is created by a runner who had genuinely planned to take part themselves. The platform allows fair transfers only, ensuring that another participant can take that place without paying more than the original entry fee.
