Devin Haney may have just put the ball in Keyshawn Davis’ court.

After weeks of public discussion surrounding a potential catchweight fight with Shakur Stevenson, Haney turned his attention elsewhere on Sunday, posting a simple message on social media:

KEYSHAWNNNN

— Devin Haney (@Realdevinhaney) June 14, 2026

The post arrives at an interesting time in the ongoing welterweight picture. Haney had previously indicated that he was willing to meet Shakur at 144 pounds, only to later express frustration by claiming that agreeing to the catchweight “wasn’t enough.”

At the same time, the WBO has made it clear that Haney must address his mandatory obligation against Keyshawn if he intends to keep his welterweight title.

Davis has consistently pushed for the fight in public, reminding Haney of his position as the mandatory challenger and repeatedly stating that he is ready for boxing’s biggest opportunities. Earlier this month, Haney himself appeared open to the matchup, telling Davis, “Let’s do it, Keyshawn.”

One development that may have altered the landscape was Shakur’s public message to his close friend Davis. After initially showing interest in the Haney fight, Shakur posted:

“Only gone move off ya blessing brotha.. If not, go cook that nigga!!”

Since then, Shakur has largely stopped discussing a fight with Haney, while the mandatory situation involving Davis has moved to the forefront.

Haney’s latest post leaves room for interpretation. It could be viewed as a genuine indication that he is ready to move forward with one of the most significant fights available in the welterweight division. It could also be Haney calling Keyshawn’s bluff after hearing the challenger repeatedly campaign for the opportunity.

Either way, Haney has now publicly directed his attention toward Keyshawn at a time when the WBO expects him to make a decision regarding his mandatory defense.

For weeks, much of the conversation centered on Haney and Shakur. Now, the focus appears to have shifted toward an unbeaten showdown between Haney and Keyshawn, with the champion’s latest message suggesting that he may be ready to find out if Davis wants the fight as much as he says he does.
