University of Miami men's basketball coach Jai Lucas signed a new five-year contract with the program on Wednesday.

Lucas oversaw a 19-win turnaround in his first season at Miami, tying an NCAA record.

The Hurricanes finished 26-9 last season and lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The 37-year-old had four years left on his original deal.

The Hurricanes landed two top-30 players in the transfer portal alongside top-10 recruit Caleb Gaskins ahead of next season.
