Joe Rogan got to call the historic UFC Freedom 250 card on Sunday, and he thinks it’s the most significant MMA event of all time.

For the first time ever, UFC held an event on the White House lawn. The show featured seven bouts, two of which were title fights. Not a single bout went the distance. The night ended with a new undisputed UFC Lightweight Champion from the United States. Justin Gaethje forced Ilia Topuria to quit on his stool before the fifth round could begin.

During the UFC Freedom 250 post-fight show, Rogan heaped big praise on the event (h/t MMAJunkie).

“This is the greatest night in the history of combat sports, and the greatest night in the history of MMA by far,” Rogan said.
”There’s nothing that’s ever going to top this until something does.”

UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier, who was alongside Rogan and Jon Anik for commentary duties, agrees about the significance of UFC Freedom 250.

“I don’t think anything is ever going to top this,” Cormier said. “I keep sitting back going, ‘Wow.’ Like literally saying wow. When you’ve seen so much in your life, to sit their going wow, wow, wow after watching this, and all night we said if there’s a setting for an American fighter to just spring the greatest upset that we’ve seen in a long time, tonight’s the night.”

An interim UFC heavyweight title fight was also featured on the card. Ciryl Gane scored a second-round TKO finish over Alex Pereira, who was attempting to become the first-ever three-division UFC champion. Instead, Gane has now set himself up for a title unification bout against Tom Aspinall.
