Earlier tonight at UFC Shanghai, Kai Asakura added one more high-reel finish to his UFC resume by finishing Aori Qileng.
Asakura started strong. He landed a variety of kicks and uppercuts and walked his opponent down right away, while repeatedly tagging “The Mongolian Murderer.” Asakura controlled the pace throughout the first stanza and stunned his opponent on several occasions. The 32-year-old’s sharp jab also proved to be a major problem for Aori Qileng.
In the second round, Asakura badly hurt his opponent with a high left kick to the temple and went for the final kill with a series of uppercuts, body shots, and heavy strikes, prompting the referee to step in and stop the bout, saving Aori Qileng from further punishment.
Official decison: Kai Asakura defeated Aoriqileng by KO in Round 2 (0:34) at UFC Shanghai.
That’s 2 back-to-back finishes for Kai Asakura as a 135-pounder in the UFC. During the post-fight interview, he made it clear that he wants a big fight next.
Meanwhile, after tonight’s loss, Qileng has now lost three of his last four fights.
