In a recent Twitch stream, Dallas Mavericks wing Klay Thompson said he only has one goal left for his career. Thompson wants to play a role on a team competing for a championship.

"I want to compete for a championship, not necessarily win one, but ... have the chance to go and try and get another one," Thompson said. "I want to play a role on a team that can make a deep playoff run. Whether it's this season or next season. That's really my only goal."

Thompson is in the final season of the three-year contract that he signed as part of a sign-and-trade from the Golden State Warriors to the Mavericks. Thompson is owed $17.5 million for this season. There have been rumors of a potential buyout, but there's no indication that the Mavs are willing to entertain buying out Thompson at this point.
