Marin Bikes just announced the launch of its new Alpine Trail E, which has received a pretty hardcore “glow-up”. The new Alpine Trail E is a monster enduro eMTB that has been redesigned to focus on weight reduction and performance refinement. Sounds like a good time!

No use lollygagging, let’s get to the juicy details.

The New Alpine Trail E

The updated model weighs 3 pounds (1,345g) less than its predecessor, while maintaining the same power output for extended riding sessions. The big weight reduction comes primarily from a completely redesigned Series 4 Aluminum frame.

The newly designed frame sheds nearly 1 pound (445g). And, Marin says this was achieved through more focused engineering throughout the structure. This also includes a lighter rocker link and seatstay components.

The Alpine Trail E retains features like weather-sealed internal cable routing, SRAM’s Universal Derailleur Hanger, and Boost 148x12mm axle spacing.

The frame includes built-in protection for the chainstay and downtube areas, plus dedicated mounting points under the top tube for tools and such. Plus, dual downtube bosses to accommodate either a water bottle or the PowerMore range extender.

A New Motor

The Alpine Trail E’s motor integration has been refined with more of a focus on thermal management. The new motor cover design increases airflow to help prevent power reduction during long climbs. This allows consistent performance when you need it most.

And given that this runs the latest Bosch Gen 5 Performance Line CX motor, you get all of the latest updates, including 120nm of torque and increased rider support at low speeds.

Additionally, the slimmer downtube and motor housing configuration adds 37mm of ground clearance, giving riders more confidence when navigating the chonk and rocky descents without worrying about impacts to the motor system.

Alpine Geometry

It’s the rider’s choice on how they want to ride the Alpine Trail E to handle. With the adjustable geometry, the rider can swap out the upper headset cup for ±0.75-degrees of adjustment. That means you can go slack for those fast descents or steepen it up for the tight techy stuff.

Chainstay flip chips adjust the bottom bracket height by 6mm from 352mm (high, short) to 345mm (low, long). Additionally, the chainstay length can be adjusted by 8mm from 442mm (high, short) to 450mm (low, long).
