They still need signings, and there are less than two weeks of the transfer window remaining. Bradley Barcola is the top target, and the Reds want a right-sided forward too, but this is a real opportunity for Alexander Isak to return to world-class form in the Premier League.
Why Alexander Isak is now Liverpool's main man
Isak has flattered to deceive since leaving Newcastle and joining Liverpool in a British-record £125m move. He only scored three goals last season, injured for the lion's share but unable to hit his former stride before then, while fit and firing.
During his final year on Tyneside, Jamie Carragher hailed Isak, 26, as "the best striker in the Premier League". He has since lost that tag, but Iraola and the whole Liverpool persuasion will expect him to recover that level.

Isak is a phenomenal player. A rare breed of goalscorer, his intelligent movement and command of his rangy build makes him a devastating opponent for any defender. But he is a forward who requires a flowing system.
Some haven't considered it in this way, but Liverpool have already replaced Mohamed Salah, who has joined Trabzonspor this summer. Sure, Iraola's side need a right winger, but in Isak, they have a talisman who can provide the world-class clinical edge that the 34-year-old Egyptian served on a silver platter for so many years in the Premier League.
But Isak needs service. He works best when flowing at the middle of a slick attacking system, and for that, Liverpool do need to sign a right winger. Numerous names have been touted, but Liverpool seem to have a dream to pull off an Isak-esque signing on the right.
How Liverpool can sign their new Isak
Liverpool have seen a succession of bids for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh knocked back. The Seagulls want £70m. Paris Saint-Germain's Ibrahim Mbaye has also been considered, but the French giants want a silly sum.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have "made a call" to Real Madrid in an attempt to sign Endrick, whose playing time with Los Blancos this season will be limited following the record-breaking signing of Yan Diomande.
Liverpool made a call to understand if there was a chance to sign Endrick on loan, with a buy option clause on a permanent deal with a big proposal. Liverpool explored the possibility to sign Endrick, but Real Madrid - and when I say Real Madrid, I mean Florentino Perez, the president, and Jose Mourinho, the coach - decided to keep Endrick.
Endrick has struggled for playing time since joining Real Madrid from Palmeiras as an 18-year-old, but he remains one of the most exciting attacking prospects in the world, hailed as a "phenomenon" by compatriot Gabriel Jesus, and if Liverpool are serious about signing him, they will need to stump up at least £56m, probably more.
The 20-year-old attacker has the swaggering style of a superstar. This is a kid who believes he will develop into one of the world's best, but remaining at Real Madrid could prove prohibitive in that, with opportunities likely to come at a trickle.
At Liverpool, he could take centre-stage, making a marquee move that indeed echoes the Isak deal from one year ago.
It might seem like the chance to sign the prodigious Brazil international has faded, but a lot can change at the final stages of the transfer window. Hark back to last summer, when Newcastle were absolute in their refusal to entertain Isak's possible sale. The Sweden striker ended up at Anfield.
Endrick might not be the same player, but he has surely got what it takes to rival Isak as Liverpool's star man in attack, and though he may have to force a move to Merseyside, it could prove the right move for all parties.
At Lyon on loan last term, Endrick scored five goals and supplied seven assists across 16 appearances. He showed that he has what it takes, and Iraola's track record in developing exciting attackers should certainly tempt him to make the move.

Endrick is still growing into his skin, but there's no question that the Selecao forward has the potential to become one of the best in the world. At Liverpool, he could realise that potential, arriving as an Isak-esque signing for Iraola's outfit.
