Hitter of the Day

Carter Graham, 1B, Cincinnati Reds (Double-A Chattanooga): 3-4, 2B, 2 HR, 2 R, 4 RBI.
The Stanford man Graham hasn’t graded out quite as highly since his promotion from High-A Dayton, but a .274/.387/.494 slash with nine homers in 199 Southern League at-bats should still keep him out of the woods. He’s had some issues with chase in the past, but his pairing of walks with homers is evergreen.

Pitcher of the Day

Johnny King, LHP, Toronto Blue Jays (Double-A New Hampshire): 4 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 6 K, 3 BB.
The former third-rounder King remains an exciting stuff-led pitching prospect a year after his Low-A breakout, even though he missed the Midseason 50 due in part to issues landing his secondaries in the zone. The elite fastball has seen him through another minor-league level, though, and he’s allowed only three runs whilst striking out 14 over his first 13 Eastern League innings.
