Valencia Basket have reached an agreement with Nikola Mirotic for the 2026-27 season, bringing the former EuroLeague MVP to the club as a free agent.

The 35-year-old Montenegro-born forward/center arrives after spending the 2025-26 season with AS Monaco, where he helped the club win the French Super Cup, Leaders Cup, French Cup and French League. Mirotic averaged 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds during the campaign, while shooting 40.3% from three-point range.

In the EuroLeague, Mirotic appeared in 31 games for Monaco, averaging 11 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists with a 12.7 PIR. He shot 39.3% from three-point range in the competition.

The move to Valencia gives Mirotic another opportunity to add to an already extensive EuroLeague résumé. He is set to begin his 13th season in the competition and has averaged 14.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists with a 17.1 PIR across 307 EuroLeague games.

Mirotic currently ranks fifth all-time in EuroLeague PIR and fifth in scoring. He has also reached the Final Four six times during his European career.

His European résumé includes three Spanish league titles, one Italian championship and one French league title. He also won the EuroLeague Regular Season MVP award in 2022 with Barcelona and has been selected to multiple All-EuroLeague teams.

Mirotic began his professional career with Real Madrid before spending the 2009-10 season on loan at Palencia. He then returned to Madrid, where he developed into one of Europe’s top forwards before entering the NBA.

He spent five seasons in the NBA from 2014 through 2019, playing for the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks. His best NBA season came in 2018-19, when he averaged 16.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in 32 games with New Orleans before averaging 11.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 14 regular-season games with Milwaukee.

Mirotic returned to Europe with Barcelona in 2019 and immediately produced at an elite level, averaging 20.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in his first EuroLeague season back. He later spent two seasons with Olimpia Milano before joining Monaco.

Valencia are coming off one of the strongest EuroLeague seasons in club history. They finished second in the regular season at 25-13, then defeated Panathinaikos 3-2 in the playoffs before losing 105-90 to Real Madrid in the Final Four semifinal.

The club has undergone significant roster changes this offseason, with players including Jean Montero, Darius Thompson, Brancou Badio, Jaime Pradilla and Matt Costello departing. Valencia have added TJ Shorts, Dylan Osetkowski, Gonzalo Corbalan, Armoni Brooks and others as they reshape the roster.
