BALTIMORE — The Yankees certainly seem to have caught a break against the Orioles.

Pete Alonso, along with all of his teammates in the Orioles dugout, was sure he’d hit a dramatic, go-ahead homer in the bottom of the seventh of a tie game Wednesday night against the Yankees at Camden Yards.

In near Carlton Fisk-fashion after crushing a pitch from lefty Brent Headrick, Alonso watched the ball as he walked down the first base line.

The ball seemingly sailed over the left field foul pole.

He flipped his bat away, convinced he’d just hit his 30th homer of the season — and second of the night.

Instead, home plate umpire Ryan Wills called the ball foul, much to Alonso’s disgust.

After a lengthy replay delay, the call stood and to make matters worse for Baltimore, the Yankees scratched out two runs in the eighth en route to a 5-3 win.

A livid Alonso, who’d homered in the third inning off Will Warren, was forced to continue the at-bat.

He eventually went down swinging to keep the game tied.

As he walked back to the dugout, Alonso had words with Wills, but remained in the game.
