Alex Pereira’s sister, a multi-sport standout, will fight at an upcoming Dana White’s Contender Series event for a UFC contract.

Former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira remains one of the biggest stars in Mixed Martial Arts. His meteoric rise from a GLORY Kickboxing standout to an MMA juggernaut is one of the most remarkable journeys in combat sports history.

Despite a recent loss to Ciryl Gane in his highly anticipated heavyweight debut, Pereira remains a fan favorite as he prepares for his likely return to the heavyweight division. A matchup with the likes of Josh Hokit is one possibility for Pereira’s next fight.

In the meantime, Pereira has remained busy coaching his younger sister, Aline, during his rising MMA career. The former GLORY star is 3-2 in her MMA career with a recent win over Jade Masson-Wong by split decision on the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano undercard.

Despite a small sample size, Aline will get the chance to fight for a UFC contract later this year.

As first reported by MMA journalist Leo Guimaraes, Aline Pereira will face Smilla Sundell  (2-0 in MMA) on the October 13th DWCS card. Sundell, a former Muay Thai standout in ONE Championship, will fight Pereira after two wins in Tuff ‘N Uff to begin her MMA career.

Pereira vs. Sundell is expected to be a striking-friendly bout between two dangerous kickboxers. The card also features a matchup between unbeaten middleweights Davi Cabral and Douglas da Lapa.

As of this writing, Alex Pereira’s timeline for a UFC return remains uncertain. He could potentially return to the Octagon for the UFC’s upcoming Madison Square Garden card, or the UFC 335 card in December in Las Vegas.
