Orgo-Life the new way to the future

After a very exciting start to his rookie MX1 season with a convincing podium finish at round 1 in Calgary, AB. Ryder continued to feel unwell in the days following the event. What was initially assumed to be a common cold or flu prompted further medical evaluation due to the persistence and severity of the symptoms.

Unfortunately, subsequent testing confirmed a diagnosis of Mononucleosis (Mono), and as a result, Ryder will not be medically cleared to compete at Round 2 of the Makita Tools Canadian Triple Crown Motocross Series in Pilot Mound, MB.

The diagnosis has come as a surprise to Ryder and his support team. Mono is an illness that can affect healthy athletes at any time. While the timing is certainly disappointing, it is an un-avoidable situation that is going to require proper rest, recovery and clearance before returning to competition.

Fortunately, the series schedule provides Ryder with an opportunity to fully focus on the recovery and his goal is to resume competition at Round 3 of the series on June 28 in Ste-Julie, QC, pending the appropriate medical clearance.

The McNabb family and the entire Guaranteed Comfort/Honda Canada Racing Team would like to thank everyone for their continued support and understanding while Ryder is sidelined with this temporary setback, in what has otherwise been a very promising rookie MX1 debut season.

Obviously, this came as a complete surprise after such a strong start to the season. But I continued to feel unwell after Calgary, so we went to the doctor for a routine check-up, expecting it might be a cold or flu but a blood panel result came back positive for Mono. It’s frustrating timing coming off my first MX1 podium, being third in the championship points and heading into one of my local tracks. But unfortunately, an illnesses like this can happen to anyone. Due to the risk of spleen enlargement and rupture while Mono is in it’s early stages, the doctor has advised that it’s not safe for me to race this weekend. It’s difficult to accept, but my focus is on making a full recovery so I can return to racing with medical clearance as soon as possible. We’re confident this is only temporary and i’ll be back behind the gate soon, picking up where we left off.” – Ryder McNabb
