The South African team lineup for the 2026 Motocross of Nations has been changed shortly before the event. Tristan Purdon will be unable to compete due to injury. Motorsport South Africa has selected Trey Cox as his replacement in the MX Open class.

South Africa previously announced a strong lineup for the Motocross of Nations, but Purdon has now been forced to withdraw due to injury. No further details have been released regarding the exact nature or severity of his injury.

Trey Cox will take his place and represent South Africa in the MX Open class. He will form a team with Camden McLellan and Slade Smith.

McLellan, who competed in the MX2 World Championship this season, will race in the MX2 class at the Motocross of Nations. Smith will represent South Africa in the MXGP class.

The final South African lineup is therefore:

• MXGP: Slade Smith
• MX2: Camden McLellan
• MX Open: Trey Cox
