South Delhi Superstarz produced a commanding performance in the final of the Delhi Premier League 2026, defeating Central Delhi Kings by seven wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. After choosing to bowl first at the toss, South Delhi restricted Central Delhi to 182/8 before completing a comfortable chase in just 18.2 overs. Ankit Dabas was the standout performer, combining an impressive half-century with a three-wicket bowling spell to earn Player of the Match honours.

Central Delhi Kings post a respectable total

Central Delhi Kings made a competitive start after being asked to bat first. Siddharth Joon scored five from four balls before departing, but Samarth Singh provided the innings with much-needed momentum. He struck seven fours and a six during his 27-ball 51, anchoring the top order while maintaining an aggressive scoring rate.

Yugal Saini contributed a steady 32 from 29 deliveries, hitting four boundaries, before Jonty Sidhu shifted the tempo dramatically. Sidhu smashed 36 from only 19 balls, including two fours and three sixes, giving Central Delhi a strong push during the latter stages of the innings.

Aditya Bhandari added 13 from 20 balls, while Vansh Bedi chipped in with 11 off eight. Money Grewal then provided a late flourish, blasting 18 from just seven deliveries with four fours. Central Delhi eventually reached 182/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Divansh Rawat was the pick of the South Delhi bowling attack, claiming three wickets for just 17 runs from his four overs. Vision Panchal also impressed with two wickets for 17 runs, while Ankit, Pranshu Vijayran and Anshuman Hooda picked up one wicket apiece.

South Delhi Superstarz complete comfortable chase

South Delhi’s chase began cautiously, with Pranav Pant making 13 from 14 balls. The innings gathered momentum once Anmol Sharma settled at the crease. Sharma produced an assured 62 off 41 deliveries, striking six fours and three sixes to keep the required run rate firmly under control.

Ankit then took charge and turned the final into a one-sided contest. The all-rounder smashed 62 from only 34 balls, finding the boundary five times and clearing it on four occasions. His aggressive strokeplay ensured South Delhi remained well ahead of the asking rate.

Tejasvi Dahiya added the finishing momentum with a brisk 33 off 18 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes. Ekansh Dobal completed the job with an unbeaten seven from three deliveries, including a six, as South Delhi reached 186/3 in 18.2 overs.

Ankit’s contribution with both bat and ball proved decisive in the title clash. After taking 1/39 with the ball, he returned to score a match-winning 62 off 34 deliveries. His all-round display helped South Delhi overcome Central Delhi’s 182 and seal the championship with 10 balls to spare.
