Sunderland are interested in signing Jules Ahoka from Royal Antwerp this summer.

The Black Cats are looking to add more depth in the middle of the park, and they believe that Ahoka could be a quality addition for them.

Jules Ahoka could join Sunderland

According to a report from HLN, they have been keeping tabs on the development of the 20-year-old midfielder, and they are hoping to sign the defensive midfielder this summer.

The player has a contract with Royal Antwerp until 2029, and he is likely to cost a premium. The Belgian outfit signed him for €150,000, and they are likely to make a substantial profit on him.

Sunderland are currently in advanced negotiations with the Belgian club to sign the player, and the transfer is on the verge of completion. Although the two clubs have yet to agree on a final fee, it is believed a deal could be done for around €10 million.

The 20-year-old will be excited about the possibility of playing in the Premier League. It would be a huge step up in his career.

Sunderland had a very impressive campaign last year after promotion, and they have secured European football for the current campaign as well. The opportunity to play for them will be hard to turn down for a talented youngster like Ahoka.

Meanwhile, the opportunity to make a huge profit on the player will be hard for the Belgian club to ignore as well. It is fair to assume a transfer will eventually happen.
