For one amazing night on Tuesday, Iowa became the centerpiece of Major League Baseball.

As the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins taking the field for the annual Field of Dreams Game in Dyersville, Iowa, MLB fans were treated to a bit of nostalgia as well as a reminder why the Phillies could be a team to reckon with if they can make it to the postseason.

With the Phillies' 7-1 win on Tuesday, Philadelphia improved to 65-58 and stayed a half-game ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks for the final National League wild-card spot. Meanwhile, Minnesota dropped to 60-63, slipping one game out of the final American League spot.

While the game certainly mattered in the standings, there were moments that made the game feel like much more than just one of 162 during the regular season.

A Hall of Fame feeling for Major League Baseball

Before the game, 26 Baseball Hall of Famers walked out from the corn that comprised the area beyond the outfield fence, bringing to life one of the more familiar scenes from the Field of Dreams movie. According to MLB.com, those 26 Hall of Famers gathered together represented the most in attendance at a game since 49 attended the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium.

Among those present were Steve Carlton, Mike Schmidt, Joe Mauer, Bert Blyleven and Jim Kaat representing the Phillies and Twins, respectively.

Kyle Schwarber's power meets the cornfield

On the third pitch of the game, Schwarber put a jolt into the already electric environment by blasting a 2-0 fastball from Twins starter Taj Bradley into the corn beyond right field. 

Schwarber would add his second home run of the night in the fourth inning, launching another shot off Bradley to push the Philadelphia lead to 4-1. 

The two homers would represent the 36th and 37th of the season for Schwarber, who leads all MLB players in long balls.

Luis Arraez looked like Luis Arraez

The trade deadline addition expected to impact the Philadelphia lineup the most, Arraez had his first three-hit game as a member of the Phillies on Thursday night. 

Batting fourth in the lineup, Arraez went 3-for-5, raising his average on the season to .316 and reminding Phillies fans exactly what he could bring to the rest of the regular season and potentially Red October as well.

He also brought some levity to the game in the top of the first, attempting to challenge a pitch using the ABS Challenge System. However, MLB did not have challenges active for this game, leaving Arraez with a tapped helmet and nothing else.
