Minnesota Timberwolves president of basketball operations Tim Connelly reportedly has a "strong relationship" with new controlling owner Marc Stad, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Connelly is entering the final year of his contract.

Connelly was pursued by the Mavs for their president of basketball operations vacancy last spring.

Stad become the new majority owner of the Wolves last week at a $4.5 billion valuation.

Stein adds that the league may take until January to formally approve Stad as the new owner.
