Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on another major summer signing after stepping up negotiations with Manchester City for Savinho.

Roberto De Zerbi still wants more quality in wide areas despite Spurs already spending heavily across midfield and defence, De Zerbi still wants more quality in and the Brazilian would add the one-on-one threat, acceleration and creativity his attack currently lacks.

Tottenham’s window has been remarkably ambitious, with Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke among the major arrivals.

Adding another £60 million attacker would push their total expenditure towards £300 million and underline the club’s determination to challenge much League table.

Tottenhan in advances talks to sign the Brazilian

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are advancing in talks with Manchester City and all parties are increasingly confident that an agreement will be completed.

Personal terms have already been agreed, while a package worth around £60 million is believed to e 22-year-old.

Savinho is particularly attractive because De Zerbi needs a natural winger capable of isolating defenders and creating something from nothing.

He managed only seven Premier League starts last season, so the promise of a larger role in north London is also appealing.

Tottenham have chased him for more than a year after seeing a previous move blocked, making this one of their priorities.

City replacement search remains the final obstacle

GOAL reports that Tottenham have already committed roughly £230 million this summer and view Savinho as the final major piece of De Zerbi’s attacking rebuild.

However, Man City remain cautious about approving the transfer until they e replacement.

Spurs have also explored alternatives such as Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, giving them some leverage if City continue delaying negotiations.

Those other links could become important because Tottenham cannot afford to wait indefinitely and then enter the season without the winger De Zerbi wants.

£60 million is expensive for a player who was not a regular starter at City, but the tactical fit is strong.

Savinho has the pace and dribbling Tottenham need, and consistent minutes could unlock far more of his potential.
