The 2026 AVP League season reaches its conclusion Labor Day weekend at Chicago's Oak Street Beach, where 12 pairs will compete for men's and women's titles in a single-elimination bracket.

AVP confirmed the full field and bracket on August 27, with four quarterfinals scheduled for Saturday morning and finals set for Sunday afternoon.

The format offers no margin for error. The top two seeds in each gender earned semifinal byes: Miami Mayhem and Palm Beach Passion in the men's draw, Palm Beach Passion and Austin Aces on the women's side.

Seeds three through six play Saturday's quarterfinals to advance.

Women's Draw: Defending Champions Face Early Test

Brooklyn Blaze, represented by Lexy Denaburg and Julia Donlin, enter as the reigning AVP League Champions but face a genuine first-round obstacle.

The Blaze open Saturday at 10 a.m. Central against Dallas Dream's Kylie DeBerg and Betsi Flint, who won their lone regular-season meeting at Long Beach in straight sets, 15-12 and 15-10.

Flint ranks fourth in the League in digs per set, and the winner advances to face top-seeded Palm Beach in the semifinal.

The other women's quarterfinal at noon pairs #3 seed Miami Mayhem against San Diego Smash. Kelly Cheng and Megan Kraft posted a 5-3 regular-season record and reached the Manhattan Beach Open final two weeks ago.

Kraft leads all defenders in hitting percentage at .427, while Cheng sits second overall at .500.

San Diego's Geena Urango and Megan J. Rice held Kraft to a .192 hitting percentage in their East Hampton meeting, the roughest output of her season, before falling in three sets. They know the blueprint exists. The winner meets second-seeded Austin Aces Sunday morning.

Men's Draw: Two Improbable Surges Collide

Austin Aces' men produced the steepest climb of any qualifier. Troy Field and Ryan Wilcox were 0-4 in late July before winning their East Hampton match, then sweeping both contests at a Dallas team weekend to clinch with a 4-0 run.

They open at 11 a.m. Saturday against New York Nitro, whose Chaim Schalk and James Shaw started 1-5 before sweeping their Central Park matches to secure a playoff berth.

Schalk and Shaw dropped the first set of their lone regular-season meeting with Austin 15-10 before rallying to win the next two, 15-11 and 15-11. The winner faces top-seeded Miami Mayhem in the semifinal.

The all-California men's quarterfinal at 1 p.m. pits San Diego Smash against LA Launch, the only quarterfinal matchup with two regular-season meetings between the opponents.

Chase Budinger and Miles Evans won in three sets at Belmar in Week 1; Hagen Smith and Logan Webber answered with a straight-set victory at Dallas in Week 8.

Big Ten and SEC Launch Inaugural Volleyball Challenge Week, Culminating at Wrigley Field Smith leads all men's players with 19 total aces on the season, while Evans produced one of the five perfect 14-kill matches recorded this year.

Saturday's rubber match sends the winner to face second-seeded Palm Beach Passion on Sunday.
