Tyson Fury has berated Anthony Joshua for being “mentally weak” and “gun-shy”, especially since having his vulnerability exposed by one particular heavyweight.

The two Brits have signed separate contracts to square off in November, only for a proposed change of location to put their long-awaited showdown in serious doubt.

According to promoter Eddie Hearn, Joshua agreed to fight in the UK while Fury, it seems, had specified no preference on the destination for their Netflix event.

In any case, Netflix and Turki Alalshikh are eager to stage their clash in New York, while Hearn has attempted to dig his heels in and preserve the original deal.

Most recently, though, the Matchroom boss has presented an addendum to Sela – the Saudi event organisers and financiers – listing a series of demands on behalf of Joshua.

If these conditions are met, then one would suspect that Fury and ‘AJ’ will collide at Madison Square Garden on November 20.

‘The Gypsy King’, however, has taken to social media and expressed his belief that the Joshua fight is now almost dead in the water.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Fury also took the time to remind Joshua of his last fight at Madison Square Garden.

“AJ’s a little unsure of himself – he always has been. Gun-shy. Chin gone. Legs gone. [In] heavyweight boxing, you can get hit [and] get knocked down. But you can’t change what’s in here [your mind]. Mentally [he’s] like soup; mentally [I’m] like concrete.

“That’s the difference between me and you, businessman. Such a big-time businessman. Sausage. Mentally weak; mentally fragile. I’ve always knew you’d never stand in front of me, you 50-pence drug dealing f**king idiot. Zero bottle; zero guts.

“Andy Ruiz put the finish on you and you never recovered … Look at the state of you. You’ve been gun-shy ever since. You’re not man enough to stand in my world.”

Joshua suffered a shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, losing his titles via a stunning seventh-round stoppage.
