O’Malley (20-3 MMA) most recently competed this past January at UFC 324, where he scored a unanimous decision win over Song Yadong. Prior to that triumph, ‘Suga’ was coming off back-to-back losses against fellow former bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvilli.
Meanwhile, Aiemann Zahabi (14-3 MMA) will enter tonight’s contest on a seven-fight winning streak, with his most recent Octagon victory being a split decision win over Marlon Vera this past October.

Round one of this UFC Freedom 250 men’s bantamweight contest begins and Sean O’Malley looks to close the distance quickly. Aiemann Zahabi circles along the fence. He’s being very patient early on. ‘Suga’ continues to press forward. He throws a straight right that misses. Zahabi with a jab. The former champion continues to push forward and throws a 1-2. The Canadian with a low kick. O’Malley misses with a counter right. Another inside low kick from Zahabi. He baits O’Malley to come inside and now lands a good counter left. Now a low kick. Aiemann Zahabi is starting to show signs of life. Sean O’Malley goes to the body. He lands a nice combination. Zahabi is backing up. A good right from ‘Suga’. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two of this UFC Freedom 250 men’s bantamweight bout begins and Aiemann Zahabi opens with an inside low kick. He lands another. The fighters trade body kick. Sean O’Malley with a double jab. Zahabi with a nice low kick, and another. And another. That’s 5 so far in round two. Another inside low kick and now a check left hook. A good left hook from the Canadian. Now another low kick. Sen O’Malley replies with a jab and then a body kick. Zahabi answers with a low ick. Two more from the underdog. Sean O’Malley is starting to look a bit startled. He lands a right, but Zahabi answers with a quick low kick. O’Malley looks to step in, but Aiemann Zahabi hits him with another inside low kick. A good right hand sneaks in for ‘Suga’. A big left and then a right and Zahabi is down and out.
