UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit continued to taunt interim title challenger Alex Pereira in a UFC White House hotel run-in.

Alex Pereira will look to become the UFC’s first three-division champion this weekend when he battles Ciryl Gane for the interim UFC heavyweight title at the White House. Pereira opted to vacate the light heavyweight belt earlier this year to make the full-time move to heavyweight, and a win could potentially move him into the UFC GOAT debate.

Pereira’s UFC heavyweight debut comes at a time when the division is in desperate need of stardom. Amidst Tom Aspinall’s uncertain return timeline, Pereira has the chance to become the new face of the division and make history.

One of the few exceptions to the lack of heavyweight stardom is the polarizing Josh Hokit, who will face Derrick Lewis on the UFC White House undercard. The undefeated Hokit has repeatedly taunted Pereira in recent weeks, including at the first UFC White House pre-fight press conference.

As Pereira and Hokit prepare to share the stage again, tensions nearly hit a boiling point at the UFC White House fighter hotel this week.

Hokit could potentially earn a title shot with an impressive performance against Lewis this weekend. Meanwhile, Pereira is on course for a likely showdown with Aspinall if he defeats Gane in his heavyweight debut.

UFC CEO Dana White has repeatedly claimed that Pereira would be his UFC GOAT with a win this weekend over Gane, surpassing Jon Jones as the greatest fighter of all time. Jones and White had a falling out earlier this year after Jones’ exclusion from the White House card.

UFC White House fight week continues to add new layers to the promotion’s unprecedented event on the South Lawn. In the meantime, tensions remain high between Hokit and Pereira ahead of fight night.
