Tensions boiled over between heavyweight boxers Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgovic ahead of their IBF heavyweight title clash.

Heavyweight superstar Moses Itauma will face off against Filip Hrgovic for the IBF heavyweight title this weekend, and the fight nearly started early at the ceremonial weigh-ins.

Itauma returns to the ring after retaining his WBA and WBO heavyweight titles by knocking out Jermaine Franklin in March. Hrgovic, an Olympic bronze medalist, presents arguably the toughest test of Itauma’s promising heavyweight career.

Tensions are high between Itauma and Hrgovic ahead of their heavyweight fight. The two shared a colorful face-to-face during a recent joint interview, and there’s a lot on the line for both men.

Ahead of Saturday’s action at The O2 Arena, Itauma and Hrgovic faced off at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins. After Itauma shoved Hrgovic following their staredown, chaos nearly ensued on stage.

Luckily, neither fighter was seriously injured in the altercation, and the fight will move forward this weekend.

Itauma will face a resurgent Hrgovic, who has won three consecutive fights since a loss to Daniel Dubois in June 2024. He won the WBA continental gold and IBF intercontinental heavyweight titles in a knockout win over David Allen in May.

If Itauma is victorious this weekend, he could potentially clash against a marquee name such as Oleksandr Usyk for his next fight. Meanwhile, Hrgovic is looking to shock the world and hand Itauma a brutal taste of humble pie.
