In a year where expectations were sky-high, the Toronto Blue Jays have been among the most disappointing teams in MLB.

Injuries have played a big part in the lack of success for last season's American League Champions, but so has a lack of production from an unexpected candidate.

The clock is ticking on an almost unfathomable stat for star first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. still hasn't homered at the Rogers Centre

Guerrero has struggled in the power department this season, entering Monday with just seven home runs in 410 at-bats. While that in itself is shocking enough, it's even more shocking that all seven of those home runs have come away from home.

That's right, Guerrero has not homered at the Rogers Centre since Oct. 19, 2025 during Game 6 of the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners.

Time is ticking on the 2026 home schedule

Toronto has just 43 games remaining this season and 22 of those are at home. Give or take four plate appearances per game and Guerrero is in line for around 90 plate appearances at home the remainder of the season.

Guerrero is also in jeopardy of losing his streak of five consecutive seasons with 20-plus home runs. He would need an insane run of 13 home runs in 43 games to keep that streak alive.

It certainly feels that Guerrero will eventually come out of his funk and get one into the seats at the Rogers Centre. If not, though, Guerrero's lack of his success will be a major talking point among Blue Jays fans throughout the offseason.
