Amanda Serrano reached 50 professional wins after edging Lucrecia Manzur by majority decision in Temecula, California. Serrano retained the WBA, WBO and Ring featherweight titles, while Melissa Mortensen left with the vacant WBA super-bantamweight belt on a 12-fight Most Valuable Promotions card streamed live on TikTok.

Amanda Serrano Gets No. 50

Serrano won the 12-round main event 116-112, 116-112 and 114-114, surviving a busy and accurate performance from Argentina’s Manzur. The result moved the Puerto Rican star to 50-4-1, while Manzur fell to 14-5. Serrano remains level with Christy Martin on 32 career knockouts after going the distance.

Manzur made a fast start in her first fight outside Argentina, pressing Serrano from the opening rounds and repeatedly finding the champion with her right hand. She opened a cut on Serrano‘s forehead in round four and had stretches where the titleholder looked uncomfortable. CompuBox numbers had Manzur landing 34 percent of her punches, compared with Serrano’s 25 percent.

Serrano found her footing in the second half, using body shots and counters before taking control during the championship rounds. Her late rally was enough to convince two judges, though the 114-114 card showed how close the contest remained. Serrano sustained a hand injury during the fight, adding another wrinkle to a difficult night at Pechanga Resort Casino.

The 37-year-old was chasing a stoppage that would have made her the sole holder of the women’s boxing knockout record. Instead, she tied a win milestone few women have reached and kept her belts. The TikTok LIVE broadcast generated 3.4 million total views, according to BBC Sport.

Serrano said after the fight that Manzur was “tough” and “hungry,” having known the 27-year-old challenger would treat the title shot as a major opportunity. She has discussed one more boxing match, ideally a farewell event in Puerto Rico, though no opponent has been confirmed.

Melissa Mortensen became the new WBA super-bantamweight champion by split decision over Mexico’s Mayelli Flores. The scorecards read 95-94 twice for Mortensen and 95-94 for Flores in a fight that had the Temecula crowd voicing its frustration with the verdict.

Flores dropped Mortensen in round two and hurt her again in the fifth, but the Danish fighter responded through the later rounds with sustained combinations and right hands. Mortensen improved to 10-0, while Flores suffered another narrow setback in a third attempt to win a world title.
