This full Moon is not an ordinary one. Happening near the beginning of Libra season, a time when much of your focus can easily turn toward other people, the full Moon in Aries gives you permission to turn your attention back toward yourself and ask, what do you want?

When Is the Full Moon in Aries?

The Moon reaches fullness on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9:50 am PT.

What the Full Moon in Aries Means for You

The full Moon occurs when the Moon opposes the Sun with the Earth in the middle. The Moon’s full light shows us our gifts and shadows, what we are capable of achieving and where we might stumble along the way. Each full Moon takes place in a zodiac sign which governs what will be illuminated. Aries is the warrior of the zodiac. Its full Moon always asks us to remember our purpose and align with it. This year, that invitation carries more weight than usual.

As the Moon reaches its fullest light in Aries, it lands close to Neptune, one of the slowest and most spiritual planets in the sky. When the Moon meets Neptune this closely, it pulls its energy into our emotional bodies and asks us to feel it. Saturn is also moving through Aries a little further along, so it is still part of the story. To understand what this full Moon offers, it helps to understand what these two planets are doing in Aries this year.

In February of this year, Saturn and Neptune met in Aries in a conjunction that occurs only once every 36 years. It was the meeting of dreams and discipline. Neptune is the planet of dreams, spirituality, imagination, and vision. It rules the part of us that can sense a future we cannot yet see. Saturn is the planet of discipline, structure, commitment, and reality. It rules the part of us that builds, commits, and does the work.

On their own, each can lose its way. Neptune without Saturn becomes a beautiful dream that never lands. Saturn without Neptune becomes hard work with no soul behind it. Together in Aries this year, the sign of the self and the warrior, they ask a powerful question. What is the dream you are willing to become disciplined enough to bring into existence?

On the full Moon in Aries, Neptune takes center stage because the Moon is sitting right beside it. This is the dream and the spiritual pull toward your purpose. Neptune is moving through Aries for the first time since 1861. This is the energy of the spiritual warrior, the one who fights not out of anger but out of devotion to something larger. It asks us to find courage and take action on behalf of our vision.

Saturn, further back in the sign, is the quieter voice in the room, reminding us that the dream will ask for commitment when the time comes. Both Neptune and Saturn are retrograde on the full Moon in Aries. When a planet stations retrograde, its energy turns inward. Retrograde does not mean the energy is gone. It means it is being redirected from the outer world to the inner one.

So this is not the full Moon to announce your purpose or prove it to anyone. It is the full Moon to go inside and feel it. To sense the vision your soul is reaching for, and to notice where you might have been dreaming without building, or building without heart. The retrograde motion gives you the chance to review, refine, and recommit before these planets move forward again.

Finally, there is Mars, the ruling planet of Aries and therefore the ruler of this entire full Moon. Mars has been traveling through Cancer, where the planet’s fire is quiet and frustrated. It has felt more challenging than usual to take direct action, and easier than usual to feel stuck.

The day after this full Moon, Mars enters Leo, where its fire returns in full and it comes back to life. This is why the timing of this full Moon is so beautiful. It is the release valve right before the ignition. You clear what blocks your purpose under this moonlight, and the very next day, the courage to pursue it comes roaring back. This full Moon is the clearing that comes right before the spark. What you release under this moonlight, you make room to pursue with courage the moment Mars changes signs.

Ruled by fire and the planet Mars, Aries teaches us that we are each here on a mission. Our soul wants to accomplish something this lifetime. Each of us has a purpose, and it will keep calling until we pay attention to it. You do not need to have your entire life’s purpose figured out on this gull Moon. This Moon can help you feel it, though, if you allow it.

Pursuing your purpose can feel daunting. It might ask for career shifts, big moves, or goodbyes to certain people or habits. This full Moon helps us recognize anything that stands in the way of our purpose and release it. It is a time to look honestly at what, or who, has been blocking you. Sometimes the block is a belief you carry about yourself. Sometimes it is a relationship or an obligation that quietly pulls you off your path. Aries brings the courage to name it and the fire to let it go.

When we do not follow our soul’s purpose, we tend to grow frustrated with life and angry at ourselves. We may even wage war on ourselves through doubt and self sabotage, then project that frustration onto the people around us.

This full Moon is a time to feel any anger you might be holding and find its origin. Are you frustrated that you are not living the life of your soul? Have you compromised on something that needed to be fought for? The full Moon in Aries can help you direct your internal fire not at yourself, but toward creating the life you want.

This full Moon can also help you reignite your passion if you feel that you have lost it. Once you find your purpose and begin to pursue it, staying motivated can become its own challenge. You might feel stagnant or even trapped by your purpose. During this full Moon, feel into any resentment you might hold. Then ask how you can fall in love with your purpose again?

What the Full Moon in Aries & Sun in Libra Mean

On the full Moon, the Moon sits in the sign opposite the Sun, giving us two energies to work with and understand. That dual nature is what makes it feel intense in the emotional body.

As the full Moon lands in Aries, the Sun remains in Libra. Aries is home to the first house of the self and ruled by Mars. Libra is home to the seventh house of relationships and ruled by Venus. On the surface, these two opposite signs are as different as can be. When we look closer, they teach us valuable lessons about staying aligned with our own soul’s journey while sharing the experience of living it with another.

Aries reminds us that we have a purpose and when we find it, we feel content. Libra encourages us to feel at peace no matter the situation, which is more easily achieved when we are aligned with our purpose. We also have a better chance of forming balanced relationships when we feel fulfilled on our own.

The full Moon in Aries reminds us that we are already whole. The people in our lives do not complete us. Notice if you have been looking to a partner, a friend, or anyone outside of you to hand you a sense of meaning that only your soul can deliver. It is yours to find, and no one else can find it for you. The real relationship to observe during Libra season is the one you have with yourself. This year, with the full Moon meeting Neptune, that lesson goes even deeper.

Aries and Libra both carry the warrior spirit, but they each fight in different ways. Aries is more aggressive, the classic warrior ready to fight through adversity to rise to the next level. Libra is more of a peaceful warrior, one that battles only when balance has been disturbed. Aries gives us the energy to conquer some of our toughest demons, while Libra helps us right the wrongs done to us or the wrongs we have done to others. Aries fights with fire and force, while Libra uses air, made of words and balanced communication.

Aries is direct and often unstoppable. When we invoke the energy of Aries, change happens. We send the message, and there is no misinterpreting the meaning. Libra, on the other hand, is softer and can often be swayed to an alternate perspective. It tends to see all sides equally, which can be beneficial, but it can also make it less effective at creating change quickly. Libra asks that we understand the whole issue from every angle before making a decision, and that understanding can take time and lose momentum.

When we look at Aries in its higher vibrations, we see courage, determination, stamina, and drive. This energy helps us make decisions quickly and confidently. It helps us dissolve obstacles through sheer willpower. This is being ready to act when needed and refusing to let anything stop it. We need this when we are facing adversity, starting something new, or choosing to focus on ourselves. It enables us to make challenging decisions that demand we put ourselves first. Aries gives us the energy to choose our soul’s journey, again and again, even when it is not the easy one.

Aries in its low, or shadow, frequency becomes negatively selfish. When we align with this side, we forget that we live in a world of other people. We lose our ability to compromise or make choices for the sake of peace. We stand our ground even when it is not worth the battle. We might even start battles just to prove a point.

Aries in its lower frequency causes us to make ourselves the priority. It also shares a one-sided vision of events, as we forget to see things from another person’s point of view. Selfishness is a fine line. We need enough of it to stay true to ourselves and our journey and not to give in to other people’s demands when they challenge our commitment to ourselves. Too much of it, though, creates a life of solitude or unbalanced relationships. We intuitively know when a relationship is unbalanced. We might not know how to correct it, but we know that something is off. This feeling of imbalance causes frustration and anger, which are other low sides of Aries.

As you work with the full Moon in Aries, ask yourself where you might have crossed the line of selfishness. Where do you need to be more selfish for the sake of your soul and where do you need to be less selfish for the sake of your partnerships? Make yourself a priority, but also know where and how you can compromise. There are things in this life that are nonnegotiable and there are things we can loosen our grip on. Decide what you are willing to fight for, what you are willing to stand your ground on, and what you are willing to negotiate over for another person’s happiness. Helping others feel happy can sometimes matter more than proving a point.

The full Moon in Aries also helps us release the lower vibrations of Libra, which can work against the search for our purpose. The low, or shadow, side of the scales is indecision and passive-aggressiveness. When we align with this side, we vacillate between choices and become frustrated. We cannot decide on a path and we question our instinctual knowledge. We lose trust in ourselves and run in circles, never finding our way.

Being indecisive is another way we battle with ourselves, and this war can spill onto others. Our constant wavering can pressure our relationships as we look to other people for answers, not understanding that we already hold the answers we seek. We also lean on others for support instead of drawing on our own inner strength, which can lead to codependency and a sense of losing ourselves in another.

If you find yourself aligning with the lower vibrations of Libra, spend some time in meditation learning to trust yourself without outside influence. Ask yourself a few questions and notice the first answers that appear. Do not overanalyze them. Allow them to come from your intuition. Feel your gut response and go with it. Take action, and know that if things do not go the way you want, there will always be a lesson to learn and room to grow. Give yourself the grace to make missteps on your path. This grace is what will encourage you to pick a road and walk it, which is exactly what Aries is asking of you this full Moon.

As we step away from the lower vibrations of Aries and Libra, we enable ourselves to align with our soul’s purpose. We understand that when we feel content and fulfilled, everyone in our life benefits. We can balance the priority and responsibility we have to ourselves with our responsibilities to others. We know when to compromise, when to fight for what we love, and how to make peace with our soul’s journey. This full Moon has the power to teach us about our purpose and how to pursue it while also existing in a world filled with other people, each with a purpose of their own.

When we integrate the higher vibrations of Libra and Aries, we know how to support both ourselves and others. We also know when to ask for support. Ideally, you want partners who also understand how to balance their mission with yours, so that each person feels fulfilled and free of resentment. Align with this full Moon to create a life of purpose, passion, and enjoyment. Then learn how to make it a priority while still sharing the experience and joy of life with the people you love.

Other Astrological Influences on the Full Moon

The main aspect of any full Moon is the opposition between the Moon and Sun, which this month stretches across the Aries and Libra axis, the axis of self and other.

The Moon and Sun do not exist alone. Other planets, each with their own vibrations, form conversations with the full Moon called aspects. An aspect is a degree of separation, and when planets sit at specific degrees from one another, they create vibrations we feel alongside the full Moon. The full Moon in Aries carries a few additional aspects that make it especially powerful.

Moon Conjunct Neptune in Aries

This is the defining aspect of the full Moon. The Moon reaches its fullness right on top of Neptune at 2 degrees Aries while in retrograde. A conjunction means these energies merge and become one voice, and here the Moon becomes the messenger for Neptune, the planet of dreams, vision, and spiritual purpose. Neptune asks you to feel the dream that is larger than yourself, the pull of your soul toward something you may not yet be able to explain.

On this full Moon, your emotions become the doorway to that vision. Saturn is also in Aries, further along at 11 degrees, so the theme of discipline it set with Neptune back in February is still present. It is the quieter partner tonight, reminding you that a dream is only as real as your willingness to build it.

Because Neptune is retrograde, this energy is turned inward. You are not being asked to prove your purpose to anyone. You are being asked to feel it, to sense the vision your soul is reaching for beneath the noise of daily life. You might feel this aspect as a wave of emotion around what you truly want to do with your life, or as a longing you cannot quite name. Let it come. Neptune can also bring confusion or a fog that makes the path hard to see, so be patient with yourself if the picture is not yet clear. The gift of this aspect is a felt sense, even before you have all the words for it.

Moon Sextile Pluto and Sun Trine Pluto

Pluto is the planet of transformation, power, and everything buried beneath the surface. It is moving through Aquarius at 3 degrees, retrograde, and it forms two supportive aspects to this full Moon. The Moon sextiles Pluto, and the Sun trines it. A sextile is an opportunity, and a trine is a flow, which are gifts. Where Neptune is asking you to feel the dream, Pluto is offering you the depth and the power to clear what stands in its way. Pluto does not work at the surface. It reaches into the root of a pattern.

With these supportive aspects active, whatever you release on this full Moon can be released at its deepest layer, not just trimmed at the top. Because Pluto is retrograde, this power is turned inward, toward your own transformation rather than the world around you. Let it help you reclaim any power you have handed away, any authority over your own life you have given to other people or to old fears. This is the energy that turns a wish into a will. As you name your purpose and find the courage to fight for it, Pluto is quietly making sure the change goes all the way down.

Mars in Cancer Enters Leo

As ruler of Aries, Mars is also ruler of this full Moon. Wherever it sits colors the entire night. Mars is currently finishing its transit through Cancer, where its fire has been muted and often frustrated. You might have felt this in recent weeks as stalled momentum, indirect action, or irritation that things were not moving. On this full Moon, notice where that frustration exists, because it is showing you exactly where your fire has been blocked.

The day after the full Moon, Mars enters Leo and its fire comes back to life. What feels stuck right now is about to unblock. Use the full Moon to help clear the frustration and name what you want so that when Mars changes signs, your courage has somewhere to go.

Chiron in Aries

Chiron is also in Aries on this full Moon, Chiron is now retrograde and just reentered Aries after a brief stint in Taurus. Chiron is the comet whose energy helps us heal by reframing our pain into our power. In Aries, Chiron often aggravates the wound around our worth, our right to want what we want, and our permission to put ourselves first. Its presence on the full Moon might bring up old feelings you thought you had moved past, memories of times you were told your dream was too big, too selfish, or not for you. If these surface, know they are arriving as an opportunity. See the strength that came out of those experiences and let this full Moon reframe them. The very wound around your purpose can become the source of your courage to pursue it.

Your Invitation

Under the full Moon in Aries, we have the opportunity to discover our purpose and align with it near the beginning of Libra season, as so much of our attention turns toward other people. This is a time to turn toward yourself, feel your soul, and ask it what it wants. It is also a time to release whatever has been blocking you so you feel free to fulfill your mission while still sharing your life with others.

With the Moon meeting Neptune in Aries and Saturn also in the same sign, we are going deeper than the question of what you do. We are searching for why you are here at all, the underlying purpose beneath the surface, and what you are truly willing to fight for.

Finding your purpose is one of the most fulfilling things you can do, and also one of the most misunderstood. We tend to imagine it as a single flash of clarity, a moment when it reveals itself and we simply follow. For a few people it happens that way. For most of us, purpose is something we uncover slowly, in layers, over many seasons of life. It might take years to feel it, and even longer to trust it enough to follow. Some people know their calling their entire lives. Others travel the whole world searching for it. Neither path is wrong.

Wherever you are in that process is exactly where you are meant to be. The full Moon in Aries is not asking you to have it all figured out. It is only asking you to listen.

Your purpose might not look the way you expect. It might not match the plan you made for yourself or the plan someone else made for you. It might ask you to let go of a version of your life that looks impressive on the outside but no longer feels alive on the inside. This is where Neptune comes in. Neptune does not speak in logic or five-year plans. It speaks in longing, in the quiet pull toward something you cannot always explain.

Pay attention to that pull. Notice what you daydream about, what you lose track of time doing, what you would still want to do even if no one ever saw it or praised you for it. These are the clues. Your purpose often hides in the places you have dismissed as impractical, and this full Moon is asking you to take those places seriously.

It also helps to remember that finding your purpose is only the beginning. Many of us believe that once we discover it, the work is done and the momentum takes care of itself. In truth, that is when the real work begins. Even a life you love will have its off days. Even the dream you fought for can start to feel heavy if you forget why you chose it. This is where Saturn quietly supports you, reminding you that purpose is not a feeling you wait to arrive but a commitment you keep returning to again and again.

Tending your motivation by celebrating your wins and forgiving yourself on the hard days are all part of staying aligned. Do not wait to feel motivated before you show up. Show up and let the motivation follow.
