The Chicago White Sox earned a series victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, marking the first time in 12 years since they have won a series against them (June 2014).

The White Sox won the rubber match against the back-to-back World Series champs with a miraculous six-run comeback in the sixth inning to wrap up the series.

They showcased their dominance in the opener of the series on June 12, winning 8-2 by capitalizing on a rough outing from Roki Sasaki who gave up seven earned runs.

But the Dodgers then bounced back with a 7-1 victory in the second game on Saturday with Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto who was three outs away from recording his first MLB no-hitter. In the series finale, the White Sox's six-run sixth inning included home runs from red-hot Colson Montgomery, Sam Antonacci and Chase Meidroth.

The Chicago White Sox are making a statement this season

The White Sox have completely baffled MLB fans with their impressive turnaround performance this season. The team has demonstrated vibrancy through its strong ability to crush home runs paired with dominant pitching. Davis Martin and Grant Taylor have anchored the team's pitching in the rotation and bullpen.

The winning culture in the White Sox clubhouse has included strong plate discipline, with an increase in walks, ranking 11th in MLB with 252. They also rank second in the AL in home runs with 96, showcasing their explosive raw power from Montgomery, Munetaka Murakami and Miguel Vargas, who is tied for first with 16 home runs among all qualified MLB third basemen.

The Cinderella team has upheld a high probability of being legit contenders in the AL Central this season. In order to maximize their success in the second half of the season, they are expected to be aggressive at the trade deadline.

They've held an impressive 21-11 record in the AL since May 9 while also winning eight straight home series. But their true legitimacy this season has been taking four out of five from the NL's top two teams (Dodgers and Atlanta Braves).

The winning culture of the White Sox this season has brought high energy in the South Side, improving to 24-12 at home with a 38-32 record overall. They've come a long way from their horrid 2024 campaign, finishing with a 41-121 record.
