The Chicago White Sox have a better record than all of the opponents remaining on their 2026 regular-season schedule. Beginning on Friday, the 66-61 White Sox host the New York Mets for a three-game series. Following the Mets, the White Sox host the Texas Rangers for a three-game series on Monday through Wednesday. 

Entering the weekend, the White Sox have a 3.5-game lead in the American League Central over the Minnesota Twins. After an off day on Thursday, the White Sox play a crucial three-game series at the Twins on Aug. 28-31. 

The 66-63 St. Louis Cardinals are the only team remaining on the 2026 White Sox schedule with a winning record. St. Louis hosts the White Sox from Sept. 11-13. Houston, 64-64, is the only other team remaining on the 2026 White Sox regular-season schedule without a losing record entering this weekend. 

Houston hosts the White Sox from Aug. 31 through Sept. 3 in another key series in the American League. Houston leads the AL West by a game over Texas. The White Sox have a 2.5-game lead over the Astros for the second seed in the AL playoffs.

White Sox's September schedule

After the White Sox open September at Houston, they return home to host Minnesota for three games, in what will be the last series between the AL Central contenders this season, and Pittsburgh. The three-game series at St. Louis is followed by a trio of games at Cleveland. Cleveland is 4.5 games behind the White Sox in the AL Central.

After the six-game road trip, the White Sox return home to host Detroit for what could be the series to decide the AL Central. The White Sox's sweep at Detroit last weekend extended their division lead to 5.5 games. 

The White Sox have their final road trip of the season with three games at Kansas City. Colorado is at the White Sox for the final three games of the 2026 regular season on Sept. 25-27. K.C. has the third-worst record in the AL. Colorado has the worst record in the NL and second-worst winning percentage in MLB in 2026.
