Not for the first time in a summer transfer window, Everton supporters and management team have been left frustrated by the lack of incomings on Merseyside.

Brennan Johnson, Hayden Hackney and Christian Norgaard have all arrived this window, but the latter is yet to feature after joining the Toffees with an injury.

Manager David Moyes even mentioned his frustrations over the lack of investment after the club’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The hierarchy appear to have listened to his recent outcry and agreed a deal for Kenny Tete, but another deal appears to be edging closer towards completion.

How signing Richarlison can allow the Everton fans to forgive the board

Saturday morning saw Everton fans in uproar, after it was confirmed the board were strongly considering selling academy graduate Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest.

Oliver Glasner’s side submitted a £40m offer for the 19-year-old midfielder, leading to the Toffees faithful chanting the youngster’s name for the majority of the meeting at the Vitality.

As a result, it appears as though the hierarchy have listened to the supporters and have now pulled the plug on the move, with the teenager now set to stay at the Hill Dickinson.

In the latest shock transfer development, the Toffees have now agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur, which will see Iliman Ndiaye leave, but see a return to Merseyside for striker Richarlison.

Losing the Senegalese winger will be a bitter blow, but such a deal will allow a former fan-favourite to return to the club to try and get his career back on the right path.

The 29-year-old left in a £60m deal to join the Lilywhites back in the summer of 2022, with the attacker managing to find the net 53 times within his 152 senior appearances.

Moyes’ outcry for a new attacker appears to have been answered, but it remains to be seen if he can emulate his form from his previous spell in the North West.

How Everton can land the perfect signing for Richarlison

With just a couple of days left in the transfer window, Everton are running out of time to secure a move for any of their current transfer targets to improve Moyes’ ranks.

As previously mentioned, a deal appears to be edging closer for right-back Tete from Fulham - subsequently filling a problem position for the manager.

However, he’s not the only player currently on their shortlist, with Manchester City winger Jack Grealish in line for his own return to join the Toffees before the window closes.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest on the Brazilian’s fairytale return and claims that Moyes’ men are in advanced talks with Enzo Maresca’s men over another loan deal.

He also states that the player himself has given priority to Everton to complete a deal, amid keen interest from fellow Premier League sides, Aston Villa and Sunderland.

It remains unclear if such a deal will contain an option or obligation to buy, but it appears as though the supporters will see another one of their favourites returning to the Hill Dickinson.

He only featured 20 times in England’s top flight last season, but still managed to register eight combined goals and assists despite his injury-hit campaign.

His underlying figures from his temporary spell on Merseyside last season showcase his talent in forward areas, which could be music to the ears of the returning Richarlison.

Grealish managed to create an impressive average of 2.1 chances per 90 - a figure which subsequently ranked him in the top 10% of all forwards in the division.

Richarlison netted 11 times last season and ended the year as the Lilywhites’ top goalscorer, which could see him benefit from the Englishman’s chance creation.

The former loanee also created the most big-chances of any player within the Toffees’ senior ranks - further showcasing why he could provide the Brazilian with endless opportunities.

His excellent form hasn’t gone unnoticed in recent times, as former Manchester City star Paul Dickov claimed that the winger is undoubtedly a “world-class” talent.

Grealish’s talents in forward areas were further evident with his 26% cross completion rate, also placing him in the top 25% of wingers in England’s top flight.

His ability to provide pinpoint crosses into dangerous positions would no doubt benefit Richarlison, who scored three headers in the Premier League last term.

The last few days have certainly been challenging for the hierarchy on Merseyside, as the supporters have voiced their frustrations over numerous different issues.

However, moves for Grealish and Richarlison will no doubt get the fans back on side, and hand Moyes the added attacking threats he’s been craving this summer.
