The 250 class is ready for racing at Ironman Raceway with the championship coming down to the final two motos of the season. Cole Davies earned the first gate pick after topping the combined qualifying results with a 2:10.092, while Chance Hymas finished second and Drew Adams put together a strong morning to qualify third. Ryder DiFrancesco was fourth quickest, with Caden Dudney rounding out the top five. Levi Kitchen ended qualifying sixth overall and will need a strong start in moto one as he tries to close the 14-point gap to Davies in the championship. The Ironman track has already become deeply rutted and technical, with several riders hitting the ground during practice, making consistency and line choice even more important. Davies enters the motos with 378 points to Kitchen’s 364, and with only two races left, every position could play a role in deciding the 2026 250 Pro Motocross Championship.

250 OVERALL RESULTS

Landen Gordon finished of the season showing a lot of speed and potential.

The second 250 moto started with Landen Gordon out front, leading a strong group of Star Racing Yamaha riders through the opening corners. Cole Davies wasted little time making his move, taking over the lead on the opening lap and immediately beginning to open a gap over the rest of the field. Behind him, moto one winner Chance Hymas had a rough start to the race, going down twice in the span of two laps and dropping deep into the pack.

Julien Beaumer started the moto around sixth but quickly began working his way forward. Within the opening ten minutes, he had climbed into the top three and was sitting roughly six seconds behind Davies. Hymas was also on the move after his early mistakes, charging back toward the top ten before the halfway point.

As the race continued, Hymas kept picking off riders and had worked his way all the way into the top five with ten minutes remaining. Up front, Beaumer continued closing the gap to Davies and eventually caught the championship leader before making the pass for first.

Hymas was not done either. With three laps remaining, he had charged all the way into second, completing an impressive recovery from his two early crashes. Beaumer, however, had built enough of a cushion to control the closing laps and take the moto win, while Hymas crossed the line in second after one of the strongest comeback rides of the day.

Ryder DiFrancesco put up a fight to the very end and was able to finish the moto on the podium.

250 RACE RESULTS MOTO 1

Julien Beaumer led for nearly the full moto but was passed by Hymas in the closing laps. He would go down on the final lap as well.

Julien Beaumer grabbed the holeshot to start moto one, with Chance Hymas and Cole Davies right behind him. Hymas was immediately on the attack and made the pass for the lead on the opening lap. Behind them, Levi Kitchen was buried all the way back in 35th and had a massive amount of work ahead of him with championship rival Davies already running near the front.

Hymas looked strong out front, but a small mistake in a corner caused him to tip over and hand the lead back to Beaumer. Davies moved into second, Landen Gordon inherited third, and Hymas was forced to regroup. It did not take him long to recover, though, as he quickly passed Gordon and moved back into third.

Things only got worse for Kitchen. While working his way forward and battling around 16th, Kitchen went down hard on one of Ironman’s hills. The crash left his bike unrideable for several moments as he stood on the side of the track trying to get it running again. He eventually fired it back up and rejoined the race in 40th, but he would not complete another lap before pulling off and returning to the pits. With Davies running comfortably near the front, Kitchen’s championship hopes came to an end.

As the clock began to wind down, Hymas continued charging and eventually worked his way past Davies for second. Beaumer still held roughly a six-second advantage, but Hymas steadily began cutting into the gap. With less than two minutes remaining, Hymas had closed all the way onto Beaumer and eventually made the pass to retake the lead. After losing the top spot earlier in the moto, Hymas completed the comeback and went on to take the moto win.

Chance Hymas led, crashed, and then caught back up to the lead and won the moto.

Unfortunately for Levi Kitchen, his championship hopes slipped away as he DNF’d the moto.
