According to Esports RAC1, Barcelona is close to finalizing a deal with the 27-year-old, who stands 1.96 meters tall.
Minaya spent last season in the G League with the Osceola Magic.
He also brings international experience as a regular member of the Dominican Republic national team.
His expected signing would continue Barcelona’s extensive rebuilding process under new head coach Aleksander Sekulic.
Minaya is set to become the club’s 11th addition as Barça puts together an almost entirely new roster for the upcoming season.
