Dennis Schroder is used to moving around during his NBA career. A recent trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Charlotte Hornets means Schroder will suit up for his 12th NBA team. Schroder knew the Cavs were trying to move him and he's thankful to have landed in Charlotte.

"I've known for a month. I think it's a better situation for me from a sporting perspective," Schroder said stated in a recent interview with German outlet Braunschweiger Zeitung.

Schroder project to be the Hornets primary backup point guard behind Coby White. That's a role he's suited for, instead of playing alongside high-usage players like Donovan Mitchell and James Harden.

"When you have two legends in your position who bring the ball up the court and play a lot of isolation, then it's just difficult," the veteran guard said of a role in Cleveland that he termed as "extremely difficult", despite the "cool" experience of advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Schroder is looking forward to playing for the Hornets, because it will allow him to "play there the way I normally play". Schroder is also excited to be the veteran voice he could have used when he came in. He's looking forward to being a mentor for rookies Christian Anderson Jr. and Hannes Steinbach, who have both played for the German national team.
