Enes Kanter Freedom has formally contacted WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert seeking answers following his removal from the Fever-Sky game and subsequent ban from Wintrust Arena.

In a letter to Engelbert, the former NBA player presented five requests and gave the league five business days to respond.

Freedom first asked the WNBA to identify any policy or directive that was used to treat him differently for expressing what he described as an unpopular viewpoint.

He also wants clarification on who ordered his removal, asking whether the decision came from WNBA, Chicago Sky or Wintrust Arena personnel, security, or another party.

Freedom’s third request concerns Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud.

He asked the league to confirm whether her actions “has been or will be reviewed under any League policy governing player interactions with fans” and whether Cloud, the Sky or team management will face any consequences.

He additionally requested “a full refund of the cost of my courtside tickets.”

Finally, Freedom asked that all evidence connected to the incident be preserved, including video footage, security reports and communications concerning his attendance, removal, WNBA Draft announcement and advocacy for women’s sports.

Freedom is requesting a response from the WNBA within five business days.
