Jaylen Brown addressed his relationship with former Boston Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum for the first time since being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, saying the two have had little contact since the move but that he holds no resentment toward him.

"Not really," said Brown, when asked whether he and Tatum had spoken since the trade. "We won a championship together. So anybody that you won a championship, you would think that's what a brotherhood or a lifelong legacy would entail. Obviously there's ups and downs in any type of relationship for sure. But on my end, it's nothing but respect. Besides when he plays the Sixers, I hope he does well. But other than that, everything for me is just based in respect."

Brown made the comments during his introductory press conference Thursday in Philadelphia, where he addressed a range of topics tied to his abrupt departure from Boston after 10 seasons. He said he wasn't entirely surprised by the trade given how frequently his name had surfaced in trade discussions, though he expressed frustration with how the Celtics communicated the process.

"When I first got traded, I just threw my phone across the room," said Brown.

Brown said he has been in regular contact with his new Philadelphia teammates, including Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Joel Embiid and LeBron James, all of whom reached out following the trade. He also acknowledged the challenge of blending talented personalities on a new roster.

"Obviously it's a lot of guys with talent and egos," said Brown. "But to win, you got to be able to sacrifice, you got to be able to have trust and communicate. I want to come in transparent. I want to come in with my agenda on the table."

Brown declined to elaborate further on previous comments suggesting he felt disrespected by the Celtics' handling of trade discussions, saying he preferred to look ahead rather than revisit the details.

"To be honest, I'm moving on," said Brown. "Maybe one day you share the details of how everything transpired and all the moving parts that took place in this. Obviously it's a lot of speculation. I feel no need to chime in on it because I'm focused on what's in front of me."
