Jiri Prochazka is tired of his name being thrown around in unconfirmed fight rumors.

Prochazka recently claimed that Paulo Costa had been offered a bout with him, but he hadn’t heard anything back from “Borrachinha.” Costa fired back by claiming the UFC brass never mentioned the former light heavyweight champion’s name to him. Shortly after the exchange, rumors surfaced on social media claiming that Prochazka vs. Costa is set.

In a new post on his Instagram account, Prochazka challenged those rumors and told fans to not buy into everything they read.

“Strong week, great rounds and teamwork,” Prochazka wrote. “Family and friend bachelors party for relax on weekend. Let’s start a 3rd week. Just don’t believe to every bullsh*t on internet. Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that. One thing is sure. I want my preparation to be truly thorough—to break everything down—and to start from the roots that have long been a part of me. There are still levels that can be reached, and right now I am very grateful to see them clearly.”

Prochazka hasn’t seen action since falling short of become a two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion back in April. Despite having an injured Carlos Ulberg in front of him, Prochazka couldn’t seal the deal. The former RIZIN star was the one who ended up being knocked out even though Ulberg suffered an ACL injury.

In the aftermath of what he feels was a blown opportunity, Prochazka admitted that he took his foot off the gas when he realized Ulberg was compromised. It ended up costing the former champion, but he’s eager to move on and get back to business.

As for Costa, he made a successful return to the 205-pound weight class on the same night Prochazka was stopped by Ulberg. “Borrachinha” scored a third-round TKO finish over Azamat Murzakanov for his second straight victory.
