Panathinaikos will begin preseason preparations without Kendrick Nunn after the former EuroLeague MVP suffered a right knee injury.

The club announced that Nunn tore the medial meniscus while completing an individual workout in the United States.

“Kendrick Nunn suffered a medial meniscus tear in his right knee during his individual workouts in the USA, and on Wednesday (19/8), he immediately underwent a successful arthroscopic partial meniscectomy,” Panathinaikos said.

The player is expected to need approximately six to eight weeks of rehabilitation, potentially putting him back on the court sometime in October.

The timing means Panathinaikos should be without its star guard for only a limited portion of the official schedule.

Nunn is also suspended for two Greek league games following his incident with Tyrique Jones during last season’s finals, allowing him to serve that suspension while recovering.

If his rehabilitation progresses as expected, Nunn could make his EuroLeague return when Panathinaikos hosts Fenerbahce in Round 4 of the regular season.
