Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwaySince returning from the IL, Logan Webb has been dominant in his last three starts for the San Francisco Giants, creating a seller's dilemma about whether they should keep or trade the 29-year-old right-hander at the upcoming deadline.
He's put on a stellar performance across 27.1 innings pitched with a 0.66 ERA and 0.73 WHIP with 23 strikeouts and giving up only four walks.
In his most recent performance, he dominated against the Chicago Cubs, pitching eight innings, giving up seven hits, one run (none earned), no walks and seven strikeouts. It also marked his second consecutive start pitching eight innings.
He's undeniably illustrated his workhorse ability by being one of the most durable starters who leads MLB in innings pitched since 2022. He's also a groundball specialist, recording a 58.2% groundball rate ranking in the 96th percentile. His reliance on his sinker and changeup (29.5% whiff rate) has been a strong contributor to his groundball-inducing success this season.

— MLB (@MLB) June 14, 2026Why Logan Webb makes a suitable trade asset
He's certainly raised his trade value by pitching at least seven innings and allowing only one run or less in each of his last three starts. He's shown resurgence from his early-season slump and knee injury in early May by anchoring the Giants rotation, pitching like an ace again.
Webb is under team control through 2028, making him a compelling ace of his caliber who contending teams would love to add at a bargain cost of about $18 million annually for a frontline starter. He has secured Cy Young Award votes in consecutive seasons and was named an All-Star in back-to-back seasons (2024-2025).
At the deadline, Webb will have 2.5 years left on his five-year, $90 million contract. Since the start of June, he looks to be elevating his trade value as he's recorded a 0.39 ERA and only given up one run and 13 hits across his last three starts. Webb would likely fetch a hefty sum for Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey if he's moved in July.
The Giants, who currently rank fourth in the NL West (29-43), will likely look to be sellers at the deadline. Webb's recent shutdown performance has made him a perfect trade chip who could provide the Giants with a compelling return package of top prospects who would help the franchise overhaul its future and restock its farm system.
