Mateusz Gamrot is eager to test himself against Quillan Salkilld at UFC Vegas 120.

Gamrot is set to headline the Fight Night card on Saturday in a pivotal fight at lightweight. Although Gamrot enters the bout as the betting underdog, he has full confidence he can derail the hype of Salkilld.

“I feel like world champ, brother,” Salkilld said at media day. “I have nice number in the ranking and everyone wants to take my number. I understand this position. Okay. I invite you to the cage. Let’s fight. I’m happy to fight against Quillan because his style is perfect for me.”

Gamrot believes his wrestling and scrambling ability will lead to success against Salkilld.

Although Gamrot is confident in his skills, he knows Salkilld is a dangerous and tough opponent that he can’t overlook.

Yet, he likes the style matchup and hopes Salkilld tries to wrestle with him, as he wants to show him the different levels they have.

“He’s a dangerous kid,” Gamrot said. “He’s tall, young. He looks strong. Kick-heavy style. I need to be careful. But I love when he try taking people to the ground. He’s used some wrestling stuff. I hope he’s going to keep the same strategy for me because there’s going to be lots of scrambles and non-stop action. I love when people try to take me down to the ground. There’s a lot of hype around him, but to be honest, I don’t care. I know what I bring to the table.”

If Gamrot can upset Salkilld and hand him his first UFC loss, it will put him right back in the title picture. Gamrot enters UFC Vegas 120 on Saturday with a record of 26-4 and one NC and is coming off a submission win over Esteban Ribovics to return to the win column.
