A mother and daughter said they were forced to cover their XX/XY shirts or leave an Atlanta Dream game after paying $1,000 each for floor seats.

“We were made to cover up our XX/XY shirts at this game,” mom Casey said after attending with her daughter Annie to support Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.

“They gave us t-shirts during overtime and told us we had to leave or cover our shirts. This just happened,” she added.

The pair claimed another fan wearing a “Trans Kids Belong in Sports” shirt reported them. Casey insisted they had caused no disruption.

“We did nothing. We were just sitting there. I didn’t make signs. I wanted to make signs, but I didn’t,” she said, explaining they came “to support Sophie Cunningham and to support women and women’s sports, it’s just common sense.”

XX/XY founder Jennifer Sey said she had “watched the game from home” and noted that the “woman with her ‘Trans Kids Belong in Sports’ shirt was shown multiple times and her shirt was very visible.”

“Why can she wear the shirt but Kasey can’t wear her XX/XY shirt?” Sey asked.

Casey and Annie eventually covered their shirts to remain for the rest of the game. XX/XY later accused the WNBA of “trying to cover up the truth” and described the incident as “business as usual.”

The episode comes amid an ongoing debate over men’s participation in women’s basketball, with Cunningham publicly opposing men competing in women’s sports.
