Former UFC superstar Nate Diaz is game to make Jake Paul’s MMA debut come to fruition after the PFL-MVP promotional merger.

Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions disrupted the combat sports space when they announced its merge with the Professional Fighters’ League. Beginning in 2027, MVP MMA and PFL will be under one umbrella to promote MMA and boxing events.

This opens the door for Paul, who hasn’t fought in boxing since his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua, to potentially make the move to the cage. He’s teased at least one MMA fight for years, dating back to his time working as an executive with the PFL.

Paul and former UFC superstar Nate Diaz have repeatedly traded barbs in recent months ahead of a potential rematch. After agreeing to a rematch in the cage following Paul’s boxing win over Diaz, a potential MMA clash could be on the horizon.

As Most Valuable Promotions announced the PFL merger in a recent video, Paul called out his former boxing rival Diaz for a chance to settle the score.

“And yes, I’ve been talking about MMA and doing it for a long time, but it’s official,” Paul said.

“Now, with this new partnership [MVP and PFL], I’m going to get into the cage. Nate Diaz, stop ducking.” (h/t Fight Mag)

It didn’t take long for Diaz, who hasn’t fought in MMA since losing to Mike Perry earlier this year, to take notice of Paul’s callout.

In a recent tweet, Diaz responded.

“Pull the f— up Jake,” Diaz tweeted.

As of this writing, Paul hasn’t responded to Diaz’s tweet.

Before losing to Perry earlier this year, Diaz hadn’t fought in MMA since a UFC 279 main event win over Tony Ferguson, in what would be his final fight in the UFC. Diaz and two-time foe Conor McGregor were rumored to be in talks for a potential trilogy before McGregor’s loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329.
