Following a triple-header on 2026-27-NBA-Opening-Night the opening week for the NBA will feature some notable player debuts with new teams. On Wednesday, October 21, LaMelo Ball and the Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to play Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat. That game will be followed by the Golden State Warriors taking on the new-look Los Angeles Lakers. Both matchups will be broadcast on ESPN.

ESPN follows up with another double-header on Thursday, October 22, which features the Cleveland Cavaliers facing the Philadelphia 76ers in the home debut for several new Sixers. The second matchup of the night will see the Denver Nuggets travel to play the Oklahoma City Thunder.

On Friday, October 23, Prime will debut their coverage for the 2026-27 season with the New York Knicks heading to face the Boston Celtics. The closing game of that doubleheader will see the Houston Rockets take on the San Antonio Spurs in Austin, Texas.
